About

The book draws upon a trove of 450 high contrast vintage prints. Dead pan front and back black-and-white street portraits reproduced alongside their inverted negative counterparts. Some of the pictures were published in the vibrant Japanese magazine âHanashi-no-Tokushuâ in 1971, which featured many emerging Japanese artists of the period including Tadanori Yokoo, Shuji Terayama, Shuntaro Tanikawa, and Akira Uno. Text in Japanese and English.
