About

Tomoki Hirokawa's "Floating in the Snow" presents the winter forests of Akita in northern Japan as if they were scenes from another world. Photographed in the depths of winter, with all the necessary conditions - temperature differences, wind direction and strength, humidity - perfectly aligned for frost to cover the trees and turn the entire landscape of the mountains around them white. The almost abstract beauty of her photographs is heightened by the unique texture of the pages, printed on a pearlescent paper that visually and texturally resembles ice crystals.

Language: English, Japanese
