In 2010 Greene published the acclaimed book Plaie à vif. Tchétchénie 1994-2003, the culmination of ten years work devoted to the Chechen people and their suffering in their long conflict with Russia. In his role as a totally committed photographer and journalist, Stanley Greene has lived and worked alongside the Chechen fighters and civilian population still surviving in the ruins of Grozny and the war-ravaged countryside. Stanley Greene's Chechnya will remain one of the major contributions to the history of photo-journalism at its finest.
