The Story
First edition, first printing of ‘The Return of the King’ by J R R Tolkien, published by George Allen and Unwin in 1955.
A near fine book without inscriptions – some spotting to the endpapers – small stain to the front endpaper where the vibrant top stain has bled a little. Bound in the publisher’s beautiful rich, red boards. Offsetting to the endpapers as is common. Original fold out map is still present to the rear. In the dust jacket which has benefitted from some restorative repair to the spine tips and corners and now presents as a near fine example.
The third instalment in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.
